Worcester gardens range from riverside plots on the Severn to period houses and large suburban lawns, and many hold willows or other tall trees. When one has to come down, because it is unsafe, diseased, in the wrong place or simply unwanted, we remove it carefully and leave the garden clear.
We start by looking closely at the tree, the ground it stands on and the route in. Then we tell you how we would approach it, what we would leave behind and whether any permission is worth checking before we begin.

Close to the Severn and the river meadows, ground can be soft or prone to flooding, and willows grow very quickly. They can become top-heavy, shed large limbs and split at the base. In Worcester we take these down in sections, rope each piece and keep timber away from the water, drains and boundaries as we work through the tree. Safety near the water always comes before speed.
Soft ground changes how we handle equipment and logs, because heavy loads can churn up a lawn. We choose the route with you, use hand carrying where sensible and sometimes plan around wet weather. If your garden backs onto a river bank, a footpath or meadow, tell us at the start so we can plan properly. A few minutes on the phone about the ground helps us plan well.

Away from the water, Worcester has period houses and large suburban gardens with mature trees. These offer room to work, but trees may be close to old walls, outbuildings or neighbours' plots. Some areas are conservation areas, where notice must usually be given to the council before felling, and some trees have their own preservation orders. Check before you book. A quick call to the council saves problems later on.
In a garden with several old trees, it is worth thinking about the whole picture. Removing one tree can change light and wind exposure for the others, and sometimes a selective reduction is wiser than clearing. We give an honest view, and if felling is the right answer, we take the tree down neatly. Sometimes the tree you worry about least is the one that needs attention.
After the felling, we cut the trunk into logs if you want to keep them and take away the green waste and brushwood. Stumps can be left low or ground out by arrangement. We also cover Droitwich, Kempsey and Powick alongside Worcester itself, so ask if you are close and unsure whether we come to you. Just let us know where you would like the logs left.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Sometimes, but wet or flooded ground makes access harder and can damage lawns, so we may suggest waiting for better conditions. If the tree is dangerous, safety comes first and we plan the work around the ground as it is.
In most cases yes. Trees in conservation areas are generally protected, and notice has to be given before work begins. Contact the council with your address and the tree details, and wait for their reply before any cutting. It is not worth the risk of skipping this step.
It depends on their health and position. If one tree is dead or unsafe, removal is sensible. If several are healthy but large, careful reduction may keep the character of the garden. We will look at them together and advise.
