Family homes in Castle Bromwich tend to come with large gardens, and over time the trees and conifers in them can outgrow the space. We fell trees here that have died, started to lean, been damaged in a storm or are simply too tall and too close to the house, and we clear everything away when we finish.
Taking a big tree down is never something to rush. We look at the tree and the plot first, explain how we propose to remove it, and carry out the work in a way that protects your lawn, fences and neighbours.

Mature conifers are a familiar sight on the later family homes of Castle Bromwich, and they are often planted as a screen when the garden is young. Left alone, they shoot up, blot out the light and fill the garden with dense shade. Their roots can also compete with a lawn and lift paths, so many owners decide the time has come to remove them.
Because a conifer is a tall, dense tree, we generally take it down from the top in manageable sections rather than felling it whole. That keeps the load well away from the house and the fence line. Once the trunk is on the ground, it is cut into logs, and the branches are chipped or carted away so the lawn is left clear.

The gardens around Castle Bromwich are larger than in many parts of Birmingham, which gives us useful room to work. Even so, there are usually sheds, greenhouses, patios, fences and sometimes overhead cables between the tree and the open ground, and every one of them has to be thought about, measured up and properly protected during the felling itself, not just once the tree is down.
Hedges are another feature here, often tall and thick along the boundaries, and a tree growing within or just behind one needs careful handling so the hedge is not crushed or torn. If a tree sits close to the border with a neighbour, we tell you early so you can let them know what is planned and roughly when it will happen.
After a tree in Castle Bromwich is felled, the stump can be left low or ground out by arrangement, and the timber is logged and the waste removed. Some trees are protected, and a few areas fall within conservation rules, so it is wise to ask the council before felling. We also cover Water Orton, Shard End, Erdington and Sutton Coldfield.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.

Usually from the top down. A climber removes the crown and branches in sections, which are lowered on ropes or dropped into a clear area, and then the trunk is taken down in stages. It is slower than a single cut, but much safer near houses.
Yes. A tree that has shifted or cracked can be dangerous and unpredictable, so keep people clear of it and contact us. We will assess how it is standing and plan a controlled removal, rather than risk a sudden failure.
We take steps to limit it, using ground protection where it helps and keeping heavy timber off the grass where we can. Some marking is possible on soft ground, and we will explain what to expect and suggest the kindest route in for the equipment.
