Tree felling means taking a whole tree down, either in sections or, where there is room, in one piece. People call us for dead or diseased trees, trees that lean towards the house, storm-damaged trunks, overgrown conifers and firs, or simply a tree that no longer suits the garden. We work from Hall Green across Birmingham, the Black Country, Solihull and north Worcestershire.
We look at the tree first, explain how we would take it down and what happens to the stump, then do the job and clear up. Timber is logged if you want it, green waste is removed, and the ground is left tidy. We also help you check whether the tree is protected before anything is cut.

Not every tree needs to come down, and we will say so if pruning or a reduction would do the job. Felling makes sense when a tree is dead, badly diseased, rotten at the base or leaning in a way that worries you. It also suits trees that have grown far too large for the plot, or large conifers that have turned a back garden dark and damp.
Storm damage is another common reason. A split trunk or a tree that has been rocked in its roots can be unpredictable, so keep people clear of it and call us. In an emergency of that kind we will make the area safe first, then talk through the options once there is no immediate risk to the house, the garden or your neighbours. Sometimes a damaged tree can be cut back rather than removed, and we will tell you if that is realistic.

In an open garden with a clear drop zone, a tree can sometimes be felled in one piece. More often, particularly in the narrow gardens behind Victorian terraces and between inter-war semis, we climb and dismantle the tree in sections, lowering heavy pieces on ropes so they never land on a fence, greenhouse, shed or neighbouring property. It is slower than a straight drop, but it keeps everything around the tree safe.
Once the tree is down, the stump can be cut low or ground out by arrangement, depending on whether you plan to replant, lay a lawn or build something. The timber is cut into logs if you would like to keep it, and all the green waste is taken away. We sweep and rake the area before we leave, so the garden is usable again straight away.

Check with the local council whether the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or stands in a conservation area. Many older parts of the West Midlands are covered, and felling a protected tree without permission can bring serious penalties. We can talk you through what to ask, so you have a clear answer before a date is fixed and nobody is caught out by the rules.
Think also about access and what is nearby. Overhead power lines, canal towpaths, shared boundaries and narrow side entrances all affect the plan, and nesting birds can mean waiting for the right time. If you are replacing the tree with something smaller, or planning a patio, lawn or fence in its place, mention it so we can leave the ground ready for whatever comes next. That saves a second visit.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Yes, by arrangement. We can cut the stump low so it is flush with the ground, or have it ground out if you want to lay a lawn, patio or plant something new. Let us know what you plan to do with the space and we will suggest the sensible option.
Possibly. Trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order, or standing in a conservation area, usually need the council's agreement before any work. Contact your local council with your address and ask. If you are unsure, ask us and we will explain what to check before we book a date.
We take away the green waste and branches. If you would like the wood, we can cut the trunk into logs and stack them for you, otherwise it goes with the rest of the waste. Either way, the area is swept and left tidy before we go.
Yes. When a tree stands near a house, garage or fence, we take it down in small sections and lower each piece on ropes instead of dropping it. We look at the position first and explain how we would do it, so you know the plan before work begins.
