Halesowen lies on the edge of the Clent and Lickey hills, and its gardens reflect that, with sloping ground, mature trees and a good deal of greenery. When one of those trees becomes dead, diseased, leaning or too large, we can take it down carefully and leave the site clear of timber and waste.
Every job begins with a look at the tree and the plot. We explain the method we have chosen, why it suits your garden, and how we will keep your house, fences and neighbours safe while we work.

Much of Halesowen is made up of semi-detached homes and estates, many with trees that are older than the houses around them or were planted when the estates were first built. Oaks, sycamores, silver birch and tall conifers can all grow far past the size a modest garden can bear, shading rooms and pressing on drains and boundary walls, which is when owners usually call us.
How a tree comes down depends on what is nearby. If the garden has a clear open space and no overhead obstacles, a tree might be felled in one piece. More often, we climb it and dismantle it in sections, which gives us control over every cut and avoids damage to your lawn, fences, greenhouse and outbuildings, or to the neighbours' gardens.

Gardens in Halesowen often rise or fall steeply, and that changes the way a tree needs to be handled. Cut sections can slide or roll on a slope, and roots that grip a bank are doing useful work. We rope each piece down, keep the lower ground clear and discuss with you what is sensible to do about the stump once the tree is gone.
Closer to the hills, some trees may be part of a wider green setting or lie within a conservation area. Halesowen has some conservation areas, and protected trees do exist, so we always suggest contacting the council before you book anything. If consent is needed, we can wait until it has been given before we arrange a date with you, so nothing is rushed.
Once a Halesowen tree is down, we cut the trunk and large limbs into logs for you to keep or take away, and the brash and green waste leave with us. The stump can be left low or ground out by arrangement. We also cover Cradley Heath, Hasbury, Quinton, Romsley and Stourbridge from our base in Hall Green, Birmingham.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Yes, with the right planning. We climb the tree, lower each section on ropes and keep the ground below clear so that nothing travels downhill. It takes patience, but it protects your house, your garden and anyone passing by.
It means you will probably have to tell the council before you cut it down, and it may take some weeks to respond. We recommend checking first and not starting work until you have an answer, to avoid breaking the rules.
The roots stay in the ground unless you ask for the stump to be ground out. On a bank, leaving them can help keep the soil in place. If you want the space cleared, we can grind the stump by arrangement.
