Small Heath is dense, with Victorian terraces and inter-war streets packed close together, so a large tree in a back garden can be a bigger issue than it looks. We specialise in taking trees down where space is tight, working carefully so neighbouring houses, fences and parked cars are not put at risk.
We visit first, check how the tree stands and how we would get in and out, then explain our plan. If a smaller job such as a reduction would solve the problem, we say so. If felling is right, you will know exactly how we intend to do it.

Many Small Heath terraces have back gardens reached only through the house, with no passage to the rear. That means everything, from climbing kit to timber, has to go through the hall. We plan that with you in advance, lay down floor and wall protection and keep the route as short as we can, so the house is not left in a mess.
Narrow gardens also leave very little room for a tree to fall, so each tree is dismantled from the top in small sections. Every piece is lowered on a rope, never dropped. It is a steady, controlled way to work, and it is the only sensible method when the fence line is a couple of metres from the trunk. Patience matters here.

Small Heath has street trees and the park nearby, and not every tree close to a house belongs to the householder. A tree on the pavement or on council land cannot be felled by you, however much it shades your window. We can only take down trees on your own property, or ones you have written permission to remove. Please ask us if you are unsure.
Even private trees can have restrictions, such as a preservation order, so we check status with the council before agreeing a date. Where a tree is shared with the neighbour, it is worth speaking to them first. Small Heath streets are close, and a quick chat beforehand usually avoids problems later on. We will also tell you what to say to the council if you need to contact them.
In a small garden, the clear-up matters as much as the felling. We log the timber for you or remove it, and take the branches and green waste. The stump can be left low or ground out by arrangement. We also cover Sparkhill and Tyseley, so if you are a short way from Small Heath, ask us to take a look.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Yes. We carry everything through the house, with protection laid on floors and walls along the way. We agree the route with you beforehand so you know what to expect, and we clear up carefully afterwards. Nothing is dragged across the house unprotected.
Only the council, or whoever owns the land the tree stands on. You cannot have it felled yourself. Report the problem to the council and ask them to inspect it. Any pruning or felling must go through them first.
It can be, with the right method. We climb and take the tree down in small, roped sections so nothing lands on either side. We tell you in advance if neighbours should be warned, and we plan the work with that in mind.
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will get back to you to arrange a visit and a free, no-obligation quote. Photos sent on WhatsApp help.
