Walsall's terraces, inter-war semis and later estates often have mature trees in the back garden, planted long before the current owners arrived. Left alone, they can grow into the house, the drive or the neighbour's plot. We offer tree surgery in Walsall to keep them safe and in proportion, and to remove them where that is the better answer.
Every job starts with a conversation about what bothers you. We then inspect the tree and give you our honest view, including when the right decision is to do less, or nothing at all for now. We would rather give you a short, honest list than a long one.

Not every large tree in Walsall needs to come down. A sound tree with a few dead branches may only need deadwood removal and a light reduction to make it safe. A tree with a split trunk, fungus at the base or serious decay is a different matter, and no amount of trimming will fix it, however often it is done. Telling the two apart is the first job.
We explain the difference so you can decide. Reduction shortens the outer branches, thinning opens the crown, and crown lifting raises the lower canopy over paths and windows. Where removal is the answer, we say so and give you the reasons behind it, not just a quick verdict from the pavement. You then choose with the facts in front of you, with no pressure from us.

Many Walsall gardens are enclosed by fences and close to garages, conservatories and neighbouring properties. Rather than felling a tree in one go, our climbers take it apart in sections and lower each piece on ropes. That keeps glass, roofs and flower beds safe and gives us control the whole way down, even when the tree is leaning or the ground is awkward.
Storm damage is common with big trees, and hanging branches or a cracked limb can be dangerous. If something is already unsafe, tell us when you call. We will look at it as soon as we sensibly can and make the area safe before anything else is attempted. Loose wood and fallen branches are cleared at the same visit. This also stops dead wood lying around to cause trouble later.
Before work in Walsall we check with the council whether the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or sits within a conservation area. We also look for nesting birds, overhead cables and neighbours who may be affected. The timber is cut up and removed, the green waste is taken away, and the garden is left tidy. We also cover Bloxwich, Aldridge and Pelsall.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.

Yes, it is wise to check before any cutting. Some trees are protected and some areas have special status. We contact the council on your behalf to see if consent or notice is needed, so the work goes ahead without legal problems.
Yes. Deadwood removal is one of the most common jobs we do. We climb the tree, cut out dead and broken branches and leave the healthy growth alone. It reduces the risk of falling limbs and often improves the look of the tree.
Branches are chipped or cut up and taken away with the rest of the green waste. If you want to keep some logs for a stove or fire pit, tell us beforehand and we will leave them stacked for you. Otherwise the garden is left clear.
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will get back to you to arrange a visit and a free, no-obligation quote. Photos sent on WhatsApp help.
