Ward End is a well-settled part of east Birmingham, with inter-war and later houses, medium-sized gardens and a good many mature trees, some of them influenced by the nearby park. When one of those trees causes trouble in your garden, we can take it down safely and clear up behind us.
We look at what is wrong with the tree, how close it stands to your home and what the neighbours might notice, then suggest the simplest safe way to remove it. You will know the plan, and what will be left, before anything starts.

The typical Ward End garden has room to work in, which helps, but it is rarely empty. There may be a lawn, a shed, a greenhouse or a washing line within the fall zone of a tree, and a driveway or garage close by. We map out where each section will land and protect the fragile things, so a good-sized garden does not turn into a gamble.
With many mature trees in the area, some have been left alone for a long time. Growth can be uneven, with weight on one side, or there may be dead wood hidden in the crown. Our first job is to climb safely and read the tree properly before cutting. Sometimes it turns out to be sounder than it looks from the ground, and sometimes it is worse.

Properties near Ward End Park can have trees that overhang from one garden into another or lean over boundary fences, which causes disagreements. If a tree is on your land, the decision is yours, but good manners and the law both suggest speaking to the neighbours first. We can explain exactly what we plan to do so you can pass it on to them. That avoids awkward surprises on the day.
Some trees here may be protected, so check with the council before felling anything large or prominent. If the tree is dead or dangerous, the council can often tell you what notice is needed and how quickly. We can describe the tree and the work in plain terms, which makes any conversation with the council more straightforward for you and saves time. Ask us if anything is unclear.
After felling in Ward End we cut the wood into logs if you want to keep it and take away the brushwood and green waste. The stump can be cut low or ground out by arrangement if you want a lawn or patio there. We also work in Washwood Heath, Alum Rock and Stechford, so ask if you are close by.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Start by talking to your neighbour, as the tree belongs to them. You can generally cut back overhanging branches to the boundary, but you should not fell it without their agreement. We can give advice on a sensible, tidy approach.
We dismantle it in sections and lower each piece on ropes, so nothing falls on the garage roof or walls. We plan the cuts in advance and keep an eye on the weight of every piece as it comes down.
Yes. If you want logs, we cut the trunk and larger limbs to a sensible length and leave them where you ask. Fresh timber needs to be stacked and left to dry before burning, so plan some covered storage space. Otherwise we remove all the wood.
