Sutton Coldfield is a leafy part of north Birmingham, and many of its large detached homes have mature oaks, tall conifers and old garden trees. When one of them becomes unsafe, diseased or too big for its setting, we can fell it carefully and clear everything away once the work is done.
Big trees call for careful planning rather than speed. We look at the height, the lean, the buildings nearby and the route into the garden, and then explain how we would dismantle the tree and what that will involve for you and your neighbours.

In Sutton Coldfield it is common to find conifers that were planted as a screen and have since grown far taller than anyone intended. They block light, drop heavy debris and can be risky in strong winds. We take them down from the top in sections. Old oaks need even more thought, since the weight of a single limb can be considerable, and we plan each cut.
Where a tree is too large to bring down in one piece, we use ropes and lowering gear so that each section is controlled the whole way to the ground. Large gardens give us more room than a terrace would, but we still protect lawns, borders, driveways and boundary hedges, and we agree with you in advance where the timber and brushwood will be stacked.

Several parts of Sutton Coldfield are conservation areas, and trees there are often protected even when they have no individual order. Before we fell anything, please check with the council whether notice or permission is required, because cutting a protected tree without consent can lead to serious trouble. We are happy to describe the tree and the job so you know what to tell them.
Do not let that put you off if a tree is genuinely dead or dangerous, as the council can usually advise on how to proceed and we can help with the practical side. Tall hedges and mature planting often sit close to the trees we remove, so we take care to keep the surrounding garden intact and in good order throughout the whole job, from the first cut to the last.
When the felling is finished, we cut the trunk into logs if you want them, and take away branches and green waste. The stump can be left low or ground out by arrangement, depending on what you plan for the space. We also work in Four Oaks, Boldmere and Mere Green, and the rest of Sutton Coldfield, so ask if you are not sure we reach you.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

Often you do, as trees in conservation areas are usually protected, so the council normally has to be told before work starts. Contact Birmingham City Council with the address and tree details. We can describe the work to help you with that.
Yes. We dismantle tall conifers in sections, working down from the top and lowering each piece on ropes. The size of many gardens here gives us useful working room, but we still plan carefully around the house, drives and boundaries.
If you want to keep them for burning or other uses, we cut the trunk and larger limbs into logs and leave them where you choose. Otherwise we remove them with the brushwood. Mention your preference when we look at the job.
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will get back to you to arrange a visit and a free, no-obligation quote. Photos sent on WhatsApp help.
