Worcester is a cathedral city on the Severn, with period houses, riverside homes and large suburban gardens. Hedges here are often long and mature, and some run along river meadows or quiet lanes. We cut them with care, keeping a straight face and a level top, and we leave the ground clear when we finish.
We take on single cuts for hedges that have outgrown themselves and regular visits for gardens that are kept in good order. All clippings are removed and paths are swept. We are happy to agree heights and lines with you first.

Many Worcester suburbs have gardens large enough for long boundary hedges on two or three sides. Cutting that much hedge needs a steady, methodical approach, so we work in sections and check the line often as we go. That is how a long hedge ends up looking like a single clean wall of green. It is a calm, careful way to work on a big plot.
In larger gardens a hedge may also double as a windbreak or a screen from the road. We keep enough height for that purpose while tidying the width, so it still does its job. If you would rather lower it, we can talk through how far to go and how the plant is likely to respond. There is no pressure to cut more than you want.

Homes near the Severn or alongside river meadows have moist ground and plenty of light, and hedges grow quickly as a result. Willows and other big trees nearby shed leaves and twigs into them. We clear the debris and cut back the growth that has spread outwards, which helps the hedge stay healthy through the season. Clearing it also leaves the hedge healthier over winter.
Soft ground can make ladders and kit less steady, so we take extra care on riverside plots. If conditions are poor, we will tell you plainly and suggest a better time. Safe working matters more than rushing a hedge in Worcester just because the date was fixed in the diary. We would always rather wait than take a risk. That is how we keep the work safe.
Some parts of Worcester sit in conservation areas, and period houses often have older hedges that suit their setting. We trim these in keeping with the character of the property, avoiding anything harsh. If trees near your hedge are protected, we will let you know what to check. We also cover Claines, Powick and Kempsey. Everything is left tidy.

Yes. We work in sections along the whole boundary, checking the line as we go, so the height and width stay even. Large gardens may take longer, but the result is a clean, uniform hedge all the way round.
We do, with care. Soft ground affects where we can place steps and kit, so we adjust. If it is unsafe, we will say so and suggest coming back when the ground has firmed up. We never take risks with footing.
Not if it is done carefully. We cut to where there is green growth, avoid hard cuts into bare wood and keep the shape in keeping with the house. If a hedge needs rebuilding, we will explain how.
