A tree that suited a Kings Heath garden when it was small can become a real problem once it is tall. Roots lift paving, branches crowd the windows and leaves fill the gutters. When pruning no longer helps, we fell the tree, doing it carefully so the house, fences and neighbouring gardens are left alone.
We start with a visit to see the tree and its surroundings, then talk through the options. Sometimes felling is right, sometimes a reduction is enough. Either way you get a straight answer, and nothing is cut until you are happy with the plan.

Around Kings Heath you find Victorian and Edwardian terraces next to inter-war semis, and the back gardens are often long but narrow. A big tree in one of those plots usually has houses on both sides and little room to fall. That means climbing, then taking the tree down piece by piece rather than felling it whole in one go. Planning that sequence is most of the skill.
Tall conifers are especially common here, planted as screens and then left to grow. They cast deep shade across the garden and the neighbours' too. Felling one removes the shade and the upkeep, and it gives you the chance to start again with something better suited, such as a hedge you can keep to a sensible height, or just open lawn. We can talk through replacements.

Many properties in Kings Heath have no side access wide enough for equipment, so timber often has to be carried through the house or along a shared path. We plan this before we begin, lay down protection where needed and keep the route clear. If the tree overhangs the neighbours' land, we suggest letting them know beforehand, which avoids awkward surprises. We agree the route with you first.
Work near Highbury Park and other leafy roads can involve trees with legal protection, so we check the status before any date is agreed. The council can tell you whether consent or notice is needed, and we will point you in the right direction. We never fell a protected tree without the proper permission being in place first. You will know where you stand before we begin.
After felling, the timber is cut into logs you can keep or we remove it, along with all the leaves, twigs and sawdust. The stump can stay low or be ground out by arrangement. We also work in Moseley and Hall Green, so if you live nearby, we can usually look at your tree without a long wait. Kings Heath gardens are left clear.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.
Call, or send photos on WhatsApp, and we will come back to you.

We climb the tree and remove it in sections, lowering each one on ropes so nothing lands on fences, sheds or the house. Timber is then carried out by the safest route, which sometimes means through the property, with protection laid down.
Not always. If the tree has a preservation order or stands in a conservation area, you normally need consent or must give notice first. We can help you check, so you do not risk a fine by cutting too soon.
A lean on its own is not always a danger, but a sudden change, lifting roots or cracks in the soil can be. We look at the tree in person and tell you honestly whether it can be managed or should be taken down.
