Wednesbury grew up around iron and steel, but today its terraces and 20th century estates are threaded with canals and green corridors, and the trees along them are well grown. Some of those trees reach into back gardens. We provide tree surgery in Wednesbury, covering pruning, reductions, deadwood removal and taking down trees that have become unsafe.
Whether you have a single awkward tree or a few that have grown together, we will look at the whole picture before suggesting any cutting. You will hear what we would do and what we would leave alone.

Canal edges and green strips are good for birds, bats and insects, and the trees along them often overhang neighbouring gardens. In Wednesbury that can mean leaf litter, shade and branches that creep toward fences, sheds and rooflines. Lopping them in a hurry is rarely the right answer, because the tree may be protected or full of nesting birds. Both are good reasons to look before cutting.
We look at who owns the tree, what it supports and what is practical. If it is yours, we can thin and reduce it carefully. If it belongs to someone else, we will point you to the right person and, where appropriate, give an opinion that helps you ask for the work to be done. Either way, you will leave with a clear idea of your next step.

Most Wednesbury gardens are small to medium, with houses close together and fences or walls on every side. Dropping a tree in one piece is rarely possible. Our climbers work from the top and take it down in sections, lowering each one on a rope, so that nothing lands on a neighbour's greenhouse or your own patio, shed or vegetable bed. We keep the route clear first.
Smaller jobs, such as removing a dead limb or lifting the crown above a path, are done with the same care. Branches go through the chipper where we can, logs are cut up, and we sweep up before we leave so the garden is ready to use again straight afterwards, with nothing left behind. Small jobs get the same attention as large ones, and nothing is left half done.
Before cutting in Wednesbury we check with the council for any Tree Preservation Order or conservation area, and we look closely for nesting birds, since trees near green corridors are often used. We also watch for overhead cables and talk to neighbours where they are affected. All timber and green waste is removed at the end. We also cover West Bromwich, Tipton and Moxley.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.

Ownership depends on where the tree stands. It could belong to you, a neighbour, the council or the canal body. Check the boundary first. We can tell you what to do about an overhanging tree and carry out work on your own trees.
We avoid disturbing active nests, because nesting birds are protected. If we find one, we will leave that part of the tree alone or move the job to a better time. It is better to wait than to cause harm or break the rules.
We climb the tree and lower the wood in sections on ropes, away from the fence line. Where a branch has to pass over the fence, we guide it down slowly. Protective boards or ground sheets are used where needed, and any problems are discussed first.
