Ward End has plenty of inter-war and later houses, most with medium-sized gardens that back onto neighbours and, in places, towards the park. A good fence keeps that garden private and safe. We supply and fit close-board and panel fencing, replace worn posts and panels, and hang gates, and we take the old fence away once the new one is in.
Mature trees around Ward End Park and in nearby gardens can drop branches and cast heavy shade on a boundary. We can look at the trees and the fence together. We also cover Washwood Heath and Stechford, so ask if you are close by.

A medium garden in Ward End is often used hard, with children playing, a dog running or the washing out, so the fence needs to be secure as well as neat. We build with posts set firmly and boards or panels tight enough that nothing squeezes through. Gates are hung with a proper latch so they close behind you. That keeps the garden safe for everyone using it.
Height is a common question. A higher fence gives more privacy, but there are limits, so we suggest checking with the council before you commit. Within the usual limits, close-board gives the most solid screen, while panel fencing is a cost-conscious option along longer runs. We can talk it through and mark out the line. We will also tell you honestly if a lower fence would do the job.

Parkside trees add a lot to Ward End, but they also shed leaves, branches and seed onto fences, and their shade can keep timber damp. A fence that never dries out will rot sooner. Gravel boards help, lifting the panels off the soil, and good spacing under the panels lets air move through. In a damp, shady spot, that detail matters a lot.
If a tree in your own garden is pushing against the boundary, we can prune it or take it down before building. We would rather clear the problem than fit a new fence into the same trouble. Where you want to keep the tree, we will place the posts around the roots and explain the plan first. Nothing is cut or dug until you have agreed the plan.
Most Ward End gardens share their sides with neighbours, so agree the line and ownership before work starts. A short chat now can avoid arguments later. When the new fence is complete we clear all waste, including the old panels and posts, so the garden is left tidy and the boundary looks sharp from both sides. That is the finish we aim for on every Ward End job.

It depends on the ground, the shade and how the posts are set, so we cannot promise a figure. Firm posts and gravel boards help a great deal. We will tell you honestly what to expect once we have seen the boundary.
Yes. We hang timber side gates with sturdy posts and a latch that can take a padlock or bolt if you want it. Tell us the opening width and what you want it to do, and we can plan the gate into the fence.
If the tree is on your land, we can prune it or take it down. If it belongs to someone else, you may need to speak to the owner or the council. We can still build the new fence so it stands clear of the branches.
