This Sparkhill job was a large garden tree that had to come down completely, with the garden cleared once the work was finished. The four photos show the tree standing above the garden, the narrow passage beside the houses, the stump left after cutting and the garden around it.
Taking a large tree down in a Sparkhill garden
The first photo shows how tall the tree is compared with the summerhouse and shrubs beneath it. With houses close on either side, a tree like this is normally taken down in controlled sections from the top, not felled in one piece, so the pieces can be lowered and cleared without touching fences, sheds or neighbouring property.
Narrow access and a tidy clearance
The second photo shows the passage between two houses, with the top of the tree standing beyond the gate. Narrow side access like this is common in Sparkhill terraces and semis, so cut timber and green waste are carried out by hand and taken away. The third photo shows the large stump left low beside the fence, with sawdust and cut greenery around it. Stumps can be left low or ground out by arrangement. The last photo shows the garden itself, with its lawn, washing line and summerhouse.
