A patio turns a spare patch of lawn into somewhere you will actually use. We design and build patios, paths and paved areas for Kidderminster homes, whether you live in a period terrace near the Stour or on one of the later estates. The work starts with a tape measure and a conversation about how you want the space to feel.
We keep it practical. You get a clear plan for size, position and material, a solid base underneath, and a finish that looks tidy at the house wall, the steps and the borders, with the old paving and spoil taken away.

Kidderminster gardens vary a lot. Terraces often have narrow plots with limited access, while estate gardens can be wider and slope gently. Before we start, we look at levels, where water will run and how we get materials and spoil in and out without wrecking the lawn or the house. A little planning here saves a lot of trouble later. We note anything unusual.
Gardens in the Stour valley can stay wetter than others, so we take drainage seriously. The paving is laid with a fall, the sub-base is open enough to let water through where appropriate, and we avoid pushing runoff towards the house or onto your neighbour's side of the fence. If the ground is heavy clay, we allow for it in the depth of the dig and the base we lay on top.

Most customers in Kidderminster want something that looks good and does not demand much work. Porcelain is hard-wearing and easy to wash, sandstone-look paving gives a softer feel, and natural stone suits older properties nicely. We bring samples so you can judge them outdoors, in the light your garden actually gets, rather than from a catalogue. Seeing them outside makes the choice much easier. Bring any questions.
Size is worth a thought too. A patio that is a little larger than first planned often works better, leaving room for a table, chairs and a barbecue without everything feeling squeezed. We will mark it out on the lawn so you can see and walk around it before any digging begins, then adjust it if needed. Nothing is fixed until you are happy.
Plenty of Kidderminster gardens have conifers and tall hedges close to where a patio would go. Falling needles and shade affect how a surface weathers, so we plan around them and can trim back anything that is in the way, leaving you with a space that stays pleasant to use. We also work in Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley and Hagley, so just ask if you are nearby.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.

By building the base properly. We dig out to the right depth, add compacted sub-base in layers, and lay the paving on a firm bed. That prevents the settling and rocking you see when a patio has been rushed, and it keeps the surface level.
Often we can. We barrow materials through the house or along a shared passage, protect floors and walls, and take the spoil away the same way. We will check the route when we visit, so there are no surprises on the day itself.
Porcelain is the simplest, as it wipes clean and resists staining. Sandstone-look paving is also fairly easy, though it benefits from an occasional sweep and wash. We can talk through the upkeep of each option before you decide on one.
