Birmingham has almost every kind of garden: narrow yards behind Victorian terraces, long plots in inter-war suburbs and wide lawns in the leafy parts of the city. We build patios, paths and paved areas to suit whichever one you have, based in Hall Green and working across the city from there.
Each job begins with a visit to look at the space, the levels and any trees nearby, and we agree the layout with you. Then we dig out, lay a firm base, set the paving with a fall for drainage and finish neatly. The old surface and spoil go with us.

A patio in a small terraced yard has little in common with one in a large suburban garden, and we treat them differently. In a tight space we keep the design simple, with one surface, clean lines and room for a bench or a couple of pots. In a bigger garden we can mix sizes, add steps or lay a second area further from the house.
Birmingham has a lot of street and garden trees, and many parts of the city sit in conservation areas. That affects how close we dig to roots and how much we change the look of a front or side garden. We keep to the layout we agreed, and we tell you early if the site calls for extra care before anything is dug.

Most patio problems come from what lies underneath, so we spend time there. After marking out and excavating, we lay a compacted sub-base, then set the paving with a gentle fall away from the house walls. That stops water standing against brickwork, and it keeps the surface safe to walk on after rain. We never lay paving straight onto soil, however firm it looks, because it settles unevenly and collects puddles in the first wet spell.
For finish, you can choose sandstone-look paving, porcelain or natural stone. We explain how each ages and cleans, and we choose a colour that sits well with your brickwork. Edges where the patio meets walls, steps and borders are cut and pointed carefully, so the result looks properly built rather than just laid down. Where you want steps or a raised edge, we build those to match.
We work throughout Birmingham, including Edgbaston, Harborne and Moseley, and we take on both small paved corners and full garden terraces. Tell us the street or area and what you would like, and we will arrange a visit to look at the ground. When the job is done we remove the old paving and waste and leave the garden tidy.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.

Yes, small yards are a regular job for us. We keep the design simple so the space feels larger, choose a surface that suits the brickwork and make sure the fall carries water away from the house. Access is planned so materials reach the garden without fuss.
Trees are part of many Birmingham gardens, so we always look at them first. We avoid cutting through important roots where we can, adjust the layout if needed and say honestly when a position is likely to cause trouble later.
We break it out where needed, load it up and take it away with the soil and rubble. The ground underneath is then prepared properly before new paving goes down, so the replacement is not built on a weak or uneven base.
