Birmingham gardens range from compact terrace yards to long suburban plots under mature trees, and what suits one rarely suits another. We design and build low maintenance gardens that fit the space you actually have, using paving, gravel, raised beds, edging and tough planting so the garden stays smart without becoming a chore.
Our base is in Hall Green, so we know how varied the city's housing and gardens are. We start by looking at your plot, hearing how you use it and agreeing a simple plan before any work begins.

A Victorian terrace with a small back yard needs a different approach from an inter-war semi with a long lawn. In a tight space, a good surface, a few well-chosen containers and raised beds can make the whole area feel finished. In a bigger garden, the answer is often to reduce lawn, add defined borders and group the work into a few easy zones.
Birmingham has plenty of street and garden trees, and they affect what works underneath. Shade, leaf fall and roots all shape the choice of surface and planting, so we look at the trees first. If your property is in a conservation area, we can also talk through anything you should check with the council before changing a front garden or boundary. We will give you straight advice.

Low maintenance starts below the surface, whatever part of Birmingham you are in. We excavate and level properly, add a firm sub-base, lay weed-suppressing membrane and set robust edging, so the finished garden holds its shape. Paving is laid with falls for drainage, and gravel is kept in place by edging rather than left to wander across the lawn or into the house.
Planting is deliberately simple. We use evergreen shrubs, ground cover and hardy perennials that cope with the Midlands weather and need little more than an occasional prune. Where you want a lawn without the mowing, easy-care or artificial turf is an option, and garden lighting can turn a plain patio into somewhere you will actually use on summer evenings, long after the sun goes down.
Tell us about the garden, who uses it and what you would like to stop doing, and we will talk through realistic options. Many Birmingham customers phase the work, starting with the patio or paths and adding borders later. We also cover Edgbaston and Harborne, so if you are in one of the leafier suburbs, we can come and look.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.

From our base in Hall Green we work across Birmingham, the Black Country, Solihull and parts of Worcestershire. Choose your area.
Yes. In a small yard the surface does most of the work, so we focus on good paving or decking-free hard landscaping, a few raised beds or large planters, and tidy edging. That gives you greenery and structure without anything that needs regular cutting or heavy weeding.
They do. Shade, dropped leaves and roots influence the surface and planting we recommend. We look at the trees before drawing up the layout, so paths and patios sit where they will last and the planting actually thrives beneath the canopy.
Often not for rear gardens, but front gardens, boundary walls and any trees can be affected. Check with your local council before work begins. We are happy to talk through what you are planning so you know which questions to ask.
