Birmingham covers everything from Victorian terraces with narrow yards to leafy suburbs with deep lawns, and a garden fence has to suit the plot it is going into. We supply and fit close-board and panel fencing, renew rotten posts, add gates and clear away the old fence, whatever size of garden you have.
Because the city is so varied, no two jobs are quite alike. Some need careful work in tight spaces, others cover a long boundary in one go. Tell us what you have and we will advise on a sensible approach. We also cover Edgbaston, Harborne and Moseley.

Many Birmingham terraces have only a narrow entry or a walk through the house to reach the back garden. That affects how we bring in panels, posts and concrete, and how we carry the old fence out. We plan the route before the day, so we know whether materials can come through the side or need to be handled by hand. That keeps the day quiet and avoids damage to paths or planting.
In a small yard, the fence matters more than you might expect, because it is the main thing you see. A neat, level run of panels or boards makes a modest space feel tidier. We keep the posts in line, trim the top edge to suit, and leave no loose offcuts or broken panels behind when we finish, so the yard is ready to use again straight away.

Out in the suburbs, Birmingham gardens can be long and wide, and the fence is a major boundary rather than a small detail. Close-board fencing suits these longer runs well, with sturdy posts and gravel boards to keep the bottom edge clear of the soil. Panels are a good alternative where you want a simpler, quicker job, and the two can be combined along different sides of the same garden.
Plenty of these gardens also have mature trees or tall hedges along the boundary. We can cut back or remove them before building, so the posts go in on clear ground and nothing grows through the new fence. It saves time and avoids a messy clash between roots and concrete later on, and it gives the new fence a far longer working life.
Birmingham has many conservation areas, and some streets have extra rules about boundaries, so it is worth asking the council before you commit to a particular height or style. Agree the boundary with your neighbours too, as shared fences are common here. We are happy to talk through the practical side so that your fence goes up smoothly.

Usually, yes. We can carry panels, posts and bagged materials through the house if needed and take the old fence out the same way. It takes more planning than an open side entry, so let us know about access when you enquire.
Ownership is not always obvious. Your deeds may show it, and a chat with the neighbours often settles it. Either way, we can replace a fence that is clearly yours, and we suggest agreeing any shared boundary first so there are no surprises.
There are height limits, and they can be stricter next to a road or in a conservation area. We can explain the usual rules, but check with the council before building anything taller than a standard garden fence. It is a quick call that avoids problems.
