Gardens in Oldbury vary a lot, from small plots behind terraces to larger ones on the inter-war semis and estates. What they share is that a single tree can dominate. We carry out tree pruning in Oldbury for homeowners whose trees have become too tall, too dense or too close to the house.
Our work covers ornamental, fruit and garden trees, along with the occasional tall conifer. We prune with the tree in mind, taking only what needs to go, and we leave the garden clear and tidy so you can enjoy the result straight away.

Not every tree suits the space it grew in. Some were planted too close to the house, while others were self-seeded and simply left. Pruning can make them fit: shortening the longest branches, lifting the crown for light and removing any growth that touches walls, wires or roofs. In Oldbury, that often means a sensible balance between keeping the tree and keeping the garden usable.
In the smaller Oldbury gardens, we focus on keeping the tree's size down without cutting it into an odd shape. We choose pruning points on each branch so the tree closes its wounds well, and we leave a healthy framework. It takes more thought than a quick lop, but the tree stays healthier and looks far better. Sometimes the cleanest answer is also the simplest one.

Some parts of Oldbury have mature trees, helped by green spaces such as Warley Woods nearby. Older trees need more caution. We look for dead wood, weak joins and signs of decay, and we remove what is unsafe while leaving the main structure alone. A mature tree does not enjoy being cut hard. Many of these trees are valued by the people who own them, and we respect that.
Access can be tight in terrace streets, and we plan around it. Branches are lowered in sections on ropes, not dropped over fences, and the waste is carried out through the easiest route. If you share a boundary with neighbours, we will take care that their side is left tidy too, and we avoid bird nesting times where possible. Oldbury streets differ widely, so we look at each property as it is rather than assume.
Tell us which tree is the problem. We will visit, discuss your options and agree what to cut before starting. We also cover Smethwick, Langley and Tividale, so if you are close to Oldbury, we can usually come and look at the tree without too much waiting around. We will be honest about what is worth doing and what is not.

Yes. We shorten the branches that reach over the roof back to a suitable side branch, and take out anything rubbing on the structure. Working with ropes lets us lower each branch safely so the garage roof is left undamaged.
Most garden trees do well with light attention every second or third winter, though fast-growing species may need it sooner. Regular light pruning is gentler on the tree and a far simpler job than waiting until it is badly overgrown.
We cut them into manageable lengths, chip what can be chipped and take the waste away. If you would like logs left for burning or chippings for borders, tell us at the start and we will set them aside.
