Redditch was planned with greenery in mind, and hedges are part of how its estates look. We trim and shape garden hedges around the town, from front boundaries beside open green space to longer rear lines, cutting the sides, levelling the top and carting away every cutting we make.
If your hedge has simply been left too long, we can reduce it. If you only want it kept tidy, we can arrange visits to suit. Tell us how it is and we will say what we would do.

Many Redditch estates were laid out around shared open space, with landscaped verges and paths running between the houses. Garden hedges that border these paths can quickly spill onto them, which is a nuisance for walkers and neighbours. We cut them back to your boundary and keep the face neat, so the whole route looks properly cared for. That keeps neighbours happy.
Hedges at the front of an estate house are on show to everyone, and a clean line makes a real difference. We take particular care with corners, driveways and gaps by the gate, where growth is hard to keep neat. A properly cut front hedge also shows off the planting behind it, and makes the house look more cared for from the road.

Because the town is not old, many of its trees and hedges were planted at the same time and have now matured together. Gardens near the Arrow Valley Park often back onto trees and shrubs, which means the hedge may sit in dappled shade. Shade tends to make growth thinner on that side, so we trim gently and often rather than hard.
Where hedges have been planted on a slope or alongside a path, we adjust the cut so that the top stays visually level when seen from the road. We pay attention to nests and roosts in the denser planting, and we would rather leave a section for later than disturb one. In Redditch we also work close to Headless Cross and Astwood Bank.
Hedges that have been trimmed the same way for a long time can become hard and twiggy on the outside. A change of approach, with a slightly deeper cut and a pause in the right season, can bring fresh growth from within. We will talk you through what suits the Redditch hedge you have, and what to expect when it starts to grow back.

Yes. We cut back to your boundary so the path is clear and keep the face straight. We collect all the clippings, including any that land on the path itself, so walkers and neighbours are not left with a mess to step round.
It can help. Keeping the top slightly narrower than the base lets light reach the lower growth, which encourages it to fill. We will look at how yours is shaped and explain what changes to the cut might help.
Yes. We set the line so it looks level from the road rather than following the slope exactly. That gives the neatest result. We use stable footing and suitable access equipment, and we will tell you if the slope affects the plan.
