West Bromwich mixes older terraces with inter-war housing, and most gardens are medium in size, some with a mature tree or two. Fences in these gardens take a lot of wear. We supply and fit close-board and panel fencing, replace broken posts and panels, and hang gates, and we take the old fence away as part of the job.
If a tree or hedge is pressing on your boundary, we can sort that at the same time, which saves arranging two separate jobs. We also cover Oldbury, Great Barr and Smethwick, so ask if you are nearby.

The two main housing types in West Bromwich suggest different fences. Older terraces tend to have shorter gardens where a solid close-board fence gives welcome privacy, while the longer inter-war gardens often suit panel fencing along the sides, with close-board where you are overlooked. We look at each boundary separately instead of treating the whole garden the same. That gives you a fence that fits each part of the garden.
Whichever type you have, the posts decide how long the fence lasts. We set them firmly in the ground, keep them plumb, and space them evenly so each panel fits snugly. Gravel boards run along the bottom to keep the timber off the soil. It is plain, careful work, and it makes the difference between a fence that leans and one that stands.

Several West Bromwich gardens have mature trees, and the ones near a boundary can cause trouble for a fence. Roots lift or crack post bases, branches rub on panels, and falling leaves keep the bottom of the timber damp. If a tree is on your side, we can prune it or take it down before the new fence goes in. That keeps the new fence from fighting the same problem again.
Where you want the tree to stay, we will work around it, moving a post slightly or trimming back the branches that touch the panels. We would rather show you the options and agree them with you than make a decision for you. The aim is a fence that stands clear and a tree that stays healthy. Nothing is cut or moved until you are happy with the plan.
A gate is often the most used part of a fence, so we hang side gates and garden gates on firm posts with a latch that works. As with any shared boundary in West Bromwich, agree the line with the neighbours first and check the height limits with the council. We will then build exactly to the plan.
Based in Hall Green, so we are never far from the gardens we work in.
We look at the job before we price it, so you know what is involved.
Branches, clippings and rubbish from our jobs are cleared and the garden left tidy.

Yes, as long as the posts either side are still sound. If they have rotted, we will explain that replacing the posts is the better route, because a new panel on a weak post will not last long.
Yes, and we usually suggest them. A gravel board keeps the bottom of the fence off the soil, where most rot starts, and it can be swapped later without touching the panels. It is a small addition that helps a fence last.
Often we can plan the work together. We clear or trim the tree along the boundary first, then build the fence on clear ground. We will talk through how it would go and agree the order with you before we start.
