Walsall has plenty of mature garden trees, especially around its inter-war semis and the older roads near the town centre. Left alone, their lower limbs creep over driveways, hit the roofs of vans and hang above pavements. Crown lifting in Walsall deals with that by raising the canopy, and does it without cutting away the tree's shape or its shade.
It is a practical job, often done to meet a very simple need, like getting a car in and out without scratching the paintwork. We work out how high the lift needs to be, remove only what is required and leave the rest of the crown in place.

Many inter-war houses in Walsall have a drive at the front and a tree at the edge of the lawn. As the tree thickens, branches droop over the car space and the pavement beyond. We measure the clearance you need, allowing for vans and high-sided vehicles, and lift the canopy to suit. This makes it easier to park and keeps wet foliage off your windscreen.
We also look at the line of sight. Low growth can hide a junction, a gate or the pavement, and tidy lifting restores the view. It is worth thinking about this when a tree is next to a road. We aim to leave a natural canopy, with the lowest limbs removed cleanly and the remaining branches well balanced. That keeps the finished tree looking natural from the road.

Walsall's terraces and older estates often have mature garden trees planted close to the house. Overhanging branches rub on slates, block gutters with leaves and send twigs down chimneys. Lifting the crown moves them away without making the tree smaller overall. It is usually the sensible choice before a heavier reduction is considered. Cutting them back safely near a roof needs a proper rope and climbing setup.
Where trees are near the Arboretum or other open ground, they may be taller and wider than a normal garden tree. We look at each one in context, checking how it is built and whether any branches are weak or damaged. Sometimes we will recommend removing a poor branch while we are up there, and we will always tell you first. Nothing is left to chance.
Before we start in Walsall we check for protected trees and conservation areas, so you know whether any notice is needed. After the lift, we remove all the branches, chip what we can and sweep the drive and path. We also cover Bloxwich, Aldridge and Pelsall, and can look at trees there as part of the same trip.

Usually, yes. Tell us the height of the vehicle and we will lift the canopy with a safe margin above it. If the tree is too low or too crowded for that, we will explain what else could work.
It helps by moving the lowest branches away from tiles and gutters, but it will not stop all leaf fall, because the upper canopy is still there. If a tree sits right over the roof, a separate reduction may also be needed.
Not when it is done in moderation. Removing the lowest branches with clean cuts is one of the gentlest forms of pruning. We avoid taking too much at once, so the tree keeps most of its leaves and stays strong.
