This page brings together photos of tree removal in Hall Green. Two show a back garden cleared to bare, chipped ground, with a stone path and fences all round. The other two were taken in the snow, with two birches and a conifer in the garden and two people preparing to carry on cutting.

A garden cleared back to the fences

In the first two photos, the ground is bare apart from chippings, a few clumps of leaves and the line of stepping stones. A tall row of conifers stands behind the fence at the back, and one oddly shaped tree with a bare top stands to the left. These are photographed from the house door.

Clearing a space like this leaves the fence panels fully visible and the soil open, ready for whatever the household decides to do next, such as laying turf, a new patio or fresh planting along the boundary. Fresh ground also shows up any old stepping stones or edging that may need moving, so planning the next step is easy.

Work in progress in the snow

The third photo shows a chainsaw on the ground with one person beside it, a second person at the left of the frame, and a pile of cut branches in the foreground. The fourth shows a ladder leaning on the fence beyond the two birches, with the conifers behind. Snow on the ground helps show how much brash has built up, and where it must be stacked ready for removal.

These photos show work in progress, not the finished garden. Trees close to fences need planning, as the cut material has to be moved out through the house or a side gate. It is also advisable to check for protection orders before any cutting starts. The ladder in the last photo suggests some of the work was done from the ground as well as by climbing, though the photos do not show more than that.
