This job in Stourport-on-Severn took place on a sloping bank above a narrow lane, with a brick house and timber fencing close by. Several tall trees grew together, one wrapped in thick ivy. The first photo shows our climber partway up and a ladder against the trunk. The second shows the bank afterwards, with the trees gone and cut stumps showing among the ivy.

Trees on a slope beside the road

Sloping ground and a public lane make tree removal more demanding. Trunks must be cut in lengths and lowered, never dropped toward the road or the fence, and the working area needs to be kept clear of passers-by. A vehicle is visible further along the lane in both photos, which shows how tight the access was.

The result in the second photo

After the work, the line of fences is open to the sky and several stumps stand along the top of the bank. The bank itself is still covered with ivy and low growth, and fresh sawdust lies along the edge of the tarmac. The stumps were left as they were when this was taken. Stump grinding can be arranged separately, but only where machinery can reach.
